Asbestos Clearance Test. Sampling kit and laboratory test

$250.00$350.00

The kit includes several sampling cassettes, a sampling pump, and a sampling instruction.  Please note that the cassettes and the pump should be returned for calibration and analysis to our laboratory in London, Ontario, Canada within a month from this order.  We will analyze your samples using a standard method NIOSH 7400, which is the same procedure that we offer to professional asbestos abatement companies.  During the lab test, we measure all fibers (asbestos and not). The method is based on assumption that tenants are safe when the reading of TOTAL FIBERS in the air is below the regulated limits for ASBESTOS FIBERS.

The price includes a 1-month equipment rental, prepaid laboratory analysis, and a laboratory report. The return shipping cost is not included in the price. Please check the shipping tab for more information. The standard turnaround time for this test is 10 business days. You will be able to request expedited service when you return the samples for testing.

Description

Your laboratory report will show the concentration of fibers in air expressed in fibers per centimeter cube (ff/cc). Generally speaking, the lower concentration of fires in the air, the better is quality of air in your house. If you accidentally disturbed asbestos during renovation, it is recommended to reduce the concentration of fibers in the air to a level below 0.010 ff/cc.  The following reference numbers will help you to decide if your house requires additional cleaning:

0.002 ff/cc (or less)- concentration of fiber in the air in the top 50% cleanest houses tested by our laboratory

0.009 ff/cc (or less)- concentration of fibers in top 90% of tested houses. In other words, only 10% of all houses had more than 0.009 ff/cc in air

0.010 ff/cc – maximum allowable concentration of asbestos fibers after professional asbestos removal

0.100 ff/cc maximum allowable concentration of asbestos fibers during renovation or any work that may involve asbestos.
