Nicotine Air Testing Kit with Laboratory Analysis
Price range: $270.00 through $810.00

LCS Laboratory offers professional air sampling kits for measuring nicotine concentrations in the indoor air of your home or workplace. Nicotine is a naturally occurring alkaloid commonly found in tobacco leaves, tobacco products, and some vape liquids. The presence of nicotine in indoor air is a reliable indicator that tobacco has been smoked or vaped in the space.
Important note: This is a professional testing service, not a DIY analysis kit. After you collect the air samples, they must be returned to our laboratory for expert chemical analysis.
Air samples are collected using diffusive samplers—small plastic devices designed to absorb nicotine at a constant, controlled rate. In our laboratory, nicotine is extracted from the samplers and analyzed using high-performance capillary gas chromatography with a mass spectrometry detector (GC-MS), ensuring precise and reliable results.
The kit can be customized with the number of samplers you need for a typical house or office. At a minimum, we recommend testing each floor of the building, as well as rooms where occupants spend the most time. Sample collection is simple and requires no prior experience—just follow the clear, step-by-step instructions included with the kit.
The sampling devices are safe and non-toxic; however, they should be kept out of reach of children due to a choking hazard. For optimal sensitivity, we recommend a sampling duration of 7 days, after which the samplers should be returned to our laboratory for analysis.
Order your Nicotine Air Testing Kit today by selecting the number of samples you require. The price includes all sampling devices, professional laboratory analysis, and a detailed report with actionable results to help you maintain a healthy indoor environment.

Description
Nicotine is a toxic substance, and its concentration in industrial workplace air should not exceed 500 µg/m³. While there are no universally enforced regulatory limits for nicotine in residential environments, typical guideline ranges used for interpretation of indoor air measurements are outlined below:
-
< 0.5 µg/m³; No evidence of smoking detected.
-
0.5–2 µg/m³; Thirdhand smoke detected. Smoking likely occurred in the past or in an adjacent room, with residual nicotine persisting on surfaces and in the air.
-
2–20 µg/m³; Secondhand smoke detected. Smoking occurred in the room during the sampling period.
-
> 500 µg/m³; Hazardous concentration of nicotine in the air. Levels in this range may pose a significant health risk and warrant immediate attention.
Your sampling kit includes several samplers for the detection of formaldehyde in indoor air. The step-by-step sampling procedure can be seen here.
Once you completed the sampling, please:
