Description

The laboratory reports produced by our lab will show the concentration of Total Suspended Dust in air expressed in micrograms per meter cube (µg/m³). The following reference numbers will help you to decide if your house requires additional cleaning:

<30 µg/m³ – concentration of dust in the air was below the laboratory detection limit. The dust level is negligible

120 µg/m³ – This is recommended limit for clean air (Ambien Air Quality Criteria Ontario 2012)

120-15,000 µg/m³ – Dust level in the air is too high and likely dangerous. The source of dust should be eliminated.

>15,000 µg/m³ – Dust level is dangerously high and exceeds the regulated limit for the industry. Re-entry is not allowed without personal protection equipment.

Your sampling kit includes several sampling cassettes to capture dust from the air and an air sampling pump. The step-by-step procedure can be seen here.  Typically, it takes 2.5-3 hours to collect a sample.

After you collect all the samples please:

1. Complete the “Request for Analysis Form” , and get it ready for shipping with the samples
2. Send or deliver the samples and the paperwork to our laboratory (return shipping cost is not included in this order)
