Lead in Paint Test. Order Online

Price range: $65.00 through $78.00

You are purchasing a laboratory analysis—not a DIY kit. You will need to collect approximately 1/4 teaspoon of paint from various rooms in your home and either deliver or ship the samples to our laboratory at:
LCS Laboratory Inc., 700 Collip Circle, Unit 218, London, Ontario, N6G 4X8, Canada.

This test measures the concentration of lead in old paint.

Test your old paint before removing it. Lead was widely used in residential paints until the mid-1980s. If you’re planning renovations in an older home, it is important to ensure that the existing paint is lead-free.

Your samples will be analysed at a CALA-accredited laboratory in Ontario, Canada, using acid digestion followed by Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) spectroscopy. A formal report will be sent to you by email.

While regulations vary by province and state, most jurisdictions define “lead paint” as any paint containing 0.5% (5,000 mg/kg) lead or more.

How to submit your sample:

– Scrape approximately 1/8 teaspoon (about 0.5 g) of loose paint into a Ziploc bag.
– Do not mix different paint types or colours in one bag.
– Label each bag clearly (e.g., “Living Room wall”, “Window frame”).
– Select the number of samples you would like to test when placing your order.

Please review the Sampling and Shipping Instructions tab on this page for full details.
