This test measures the concentration of two common forms of crystalline silica: Quartz and Cristobalite. The test is commonly used to detect the residual silica left behind after recent renovation. While there is no guidelines on acceptable concentration of silica on surface, according to our data, any concentration of silica in clean residential dwellings dos not exceed 10 ug/sq ft

The sampling is simple and can be seen here. Select area with visible dust deposit and wipe it with pharmaceutical grade 70% IPA alcohol swabs (also called pads). Any brand of swabs is equally good. Place the swab sample into a clean Ziploc bag and ship it with the copy of this order to our address. Once we receive your sample, we extract dust from the swab, and analyze silica in the dust using official test method NIOSH 7602 modified for testing of swab samples. Results are presented in microgram (ug) per sample. The fee includes laboratory analysis and a formal report, which will be sent to you by email.
