You are purchasing a laboratory analysis—not a DIY kit. You will need to collect dust samples from various rooms in your home and either deliver or ship them to our laboratory at: LCS Laboratory Inc., 700 Collip Circle, Unit 218, London, Ontario, N6G 4X8, Canada.
This test identifies the composition of household dust.
We use both Polarizing Light Microscopy and Phase Contrast Microscopy to analyse the materials found in your samples. Your report will include the concentration of 22 common components typically present in residential dust, such as: lint, human hair, animal hair, paper fibres, glass fibres, feather and down, wood dust, plant tissue, pollen, insects, mould, skin dust, plastic/varnish, wax/glue/grease/adhesive, metal shavings, paint chips, glass shards, sand, rust, char, soil, and construction dust.

Description
If you believe that you have excessive dust in your house, this test will help you to find out what it is made of. Our report identifies and quantifies the following materials in your dust: Lint cotton, Lint natural (silk or fur), Lint synthetic, Carpet fibers, Human hair, Animal hair, Paper fibers, Glass fibers, Feather and down, Wood chips/dust, Plant tissue, Pollen, Insects and their parts, Mold spores, Skin dust, Nail clippings, Plastic/varnish, Wax/glue/grease/adhesive, Metal shavings, Paint chips, Glass shards, Sand and construction dust, Other unidentifiable particles.
Scoop a little bit of dust from your furniture or floor and place it in a small Ziploc Bag. We can also test dust from your vacuum cleaner. Close the bag, and label it with a permanent marker: “dust from kitchen floor”, or “carpet dust from basement”. If you want to test more than one sample, each sample should be placed in a separate bag. We need 1/10 of teaspoon of dust for testing
Once the package with your samples is ready, please:
- Print the payment receipt for your order. If you do not have a printer, please give us your order number, name, email, and phone number we will match it with our record of your order.
- Place the printed receipt (or your order #) into the box/envelope with your samples
- Send or deliver the samples and the paperwork to our laboratory
