You are purchasing a laboratory analysis—not a DIY kit. You will need to collect UFFI samples from various rooms in your home and either deliver or ship them to our laboratory at: LCS Laboratory Inc., 700 Collip Circle, Unit 218, London, Ontario, N6G 4X8, Canada.
This test identifies the presence of UFFI insulation.
Your sample will be analysed using a modified version of NIOSH Method 3500. The test will confirm whether the material is UFFI or not. A detailed report will be sent to you by email.

Description
Urea Formaldehyde Foam Insulation (UFFI) was introduced as an affordable home insulation solution. A liquid pre-polymer was injected into wall cavities, where it solidified into foam, providing additional insulation for older buildings. However, it was later discovered that UFFI gradually breaks down, releasing formaldehyde gas—a known carcinogen.
Since the mid-1980s, the use of UFFI has been banned in Canada. If you are buying or selling an older home, it is important to check whether the insulation contains UFFI.
