Take a scoop of vermiculite from the bottom of insulation layer. Laboratory needs 20 g of vermiculite for testing, this is about a cup full of vermiculite. Place the sample into Ziploc bag, close it, and label the bag with a permanent marker something like: “insulation taken near east corner” or “insulation above the kitchen”. If you want to test more than one sample, each sample should be placed in a separate bag. Please take as many samples as you need, count the number of samples, and select corresponding number of tests on this page.
Once the package with your samples is ready, please:
- Print the payment receipt for your order
- Place the printed receipt into the box/envelope with your samples
- Print and complete the “Request for Analysis Form” , and get it ready for shipping with the samples
- Send or deliver the samples and the paperwork to our laboratory

When you take a sample, presume the worst and protect yourself from asbestos. Asbestos is the most toxic when you inhale it. To be safe and “just in case”, you should wear N100 or P100 dust mask.
